Hyphen Partners with RedSail to Bring Thousands More Community Pharmacies into Value-Based Care

Integration positions Hyphen for rapid national expansion, enabling health plans to engage pharmacies as front-line partners in improving outcomes

HARTFORD, CT Hyphen, the digital health platform company focused on building a connected healthcare ecosystem, today announced a collaboration with RedSail Technologies’ BestRx that will position its Pharmacy Assistant solution to connect more than 6,000 community pharmacies across New York and New Jersey, while laying the foundation for national expansion.

The move underscores a growing recognition among health plans that local pharmacists are front-line partners in care delivery. By embedding its Pharmacy Assistant into pharmacy workflows, Hyphen enables health plans to work more closely with independent pharmacies on value-based initiatives such as medication adherence and preventive care. Data from existing applications shows the solution produces measurable improvements in medication adherence, higher vaccination rates, and stronger performance on quality, Medicare Star ratings, and CAHPS-related quality measures.

Pharmacy Assistant integrates directly into pharmacy workflows and issues patient-specific prompts directly to pharmacists for tasks such as refills, education or vaccinations. Each completed action is logged, enabling insurers to tie financial incentives to pharmacy engagement.

Healthfirst, a not-for-profit health plan serving New York City, Long Island, and Hudson Valley, was the first insurance plan adopter of Pharmacy Assistant and has seen measurable results across a group of 400 participating pharmacies serving its members including:

  • a 2.1% increase in medication adherence rates,
  • more than 2,000 flu vaccinations (61% to previously unvaccinated members),
  • engagement with over 89,000 unique members through pharmacist-led interventions, and
  • completion of over 58,700 targeted interventions.

A Payment/Performance Dashboard shows incentive opportunities and results in real time. Embedded vaccination prompts and population-level dashboards help pharmacists close care gaps proactively. Together, these updates make it easier for pharmacies to identify care opportunities and conduct outreach without leaving their established workflow, while giving health plans visibility into the impact of those interventions.
